xxMWD Interface Simulator Box

The xxMWD Interface is a simulator unit which allows users to simulate downhole conditions such as flow, gamma and telemetry pulses when working with MWD tools at surface.

The xxMWD Interface Simulator Box allows the user to simulate downhole conditions such as flow and gamma. The box also generates the 4-20mA pulses as would be provided by the standpipe pressure transmitter for feeding into a mud pulse receiver or DRT/RFD. The Simulator Box allows you to simulate a complete downhole system on your bench.

Advantages

  • Simulate a deployed downhole tool on your bench
  • Use the built-in XL50 to communicate with the tool via your PC
  • Feed a simulated 4-20mA MPT pressure signal into your DRT/RFD for testing surface gear
  • Allows for simple real time testing, updating and configuration of surface system without needing a full MWD string and pulser

Features

  • Provides an interface between your tool and your PC via the built-in XL50 Surface Translator
  • Simulate flow and gamma as if you were downhole
  • Control simulated pulse amplitude
  • Generate a 4-20mA mud pulse telemetry signal derived from your connected tool string while simulating flow on/off conditions
